It's not enough to be a butcher shop, it has to be complete. Cumbrae’s is the perfect establishment to find good pieces of meat, seasoned meats, roast meats, ready-to-heat pasta, cigars, different styles of cheese and desserts. Products are of excellent quality and service is also of the same quality from all employees. The store is super beautiful and you can order snacks and enjoy them in the store. The store does not have many barriers, so it has good internal access for wheelchair users and customers with other disabilities, but it does not have an automatic door that greatly helps with entry and exit. The team is trained to serve all customers. For those going by bus, you can use 11a or 14, both of which pass in front of the establishment. The place is pet friendly, with indoor tables during spring, summer and autumn, so you can wait with your pet, and there is always a pot of water for them.

Our local meat shop. Great cuts, great selection and fantastic service. We’ve even been able to ship our bbq orders up to our cottage in Muskoka!

Went in today to pick up a turkey we ordered November 30. We ordered 20-22 pounds and it was 18.3 lbs. Probably not enough for our group. Anyway, they had no bigger turkeys left but the service was excellent and they set me up with a turkey breast to go with it so that we can feed the whole family. Great service recovery.

+2 for reasonable product. -3 for the way the overall experience has degraded over time. 2/5. I’ve been going here since it opened. Many years. The largest negative now is the front counter staff. Never the same person, which means rotation, and churn, and resultantly no experience. And they are just kids now with no supervision. It’s like the help at Canadian Tire. Or lack thereof. You feel like they simply don’t care. Talking amongst themselves. Ignoring the customers even when serving them. I can only speak to the Bayview location and I still go for a cut of meat now and then. But it used to be an event. You know? And now it’s just grocery shopping with very high prices.

Great quality and excellent customer service. I’ve frequented Cumbrae’s for years but used their online delivery service for the first time. Ordering was very easy and I liked how their suggested serving size made it easy to know how much to order. By mistake, I chose a delivery date that was a week later than I had wanted and when I realized this, they were flexible on changing my order from a delivery to pick up on my desired date. Cumbrae’s also refunded my delivery fee, despite my mistake. Whether you visit in person or order online, their products and service are consistent and I highly recommend them.

Good meat, bad service. They don't train their staff properly and there is no supervision. You would think if a customer has been standing at the meat counter for 30 minutes a manager would check to see what is going on. They don't. It's hit and miss whether you get a competent person serving you so be prepared to waste a lot of your time. They don't have a dedicated machine to vacuum seal meat for the butcher's counter so you will wait while they seal items going on the shelves. Total lack of common sense here.

Just took family out for a bite after a nice swim. It’s too bad that the place I considered my favourite steak sandwich shop falls short. Nope…Line chef made a mistake on one sandwich, give me attitude then replacement has 2 slices of beef? Nice enough of head chef to offer water but is this how staff are trained? If you don’t plan on making an effort then just don’t as it is a double insult.
